i wanted to make a dumb little throwaway joke about a minecraft clone where there's nothing to do but dig, so imagine a game where the player is surrounded by a 1-block-thin crust of blocks and they just dig the blocks, and when the blocks are all dug, they come back so you can dig some more.

so i started to make this but i'm not that good at 3D. not a lot of effort went into this anyway! but, even just controlling the arm, making that feel good... it's no trivial thing!

reminds me of phone booth, a study-like game i made in Unity a while back:

i didn't feel like putting more effort into this. i could imagine making the arm better, making the blocks better, making the controls better (hold to dig instead of click, that kind of thing). but i did all this for a really silly joke so i stopped myself. this is exactly what this itch account is for!

p.s . i really like the sun. i think the best part of this whole thing is the sun. even in a game where all you can do is dig, i end up paying more attention to heavenly bodies.

p.p.s. when you fall and the cubes respawn, there's a little vertical movement. i did that. it's fake. there aren't any physics doing that, it's bespoke. it feels right, doesn't it? it's the little things...
